Miss France 2021 Amandine Petit to compete in Miss Universe pageant this May
Amandine Petit has been officially confirmed to represent France at the 69th Miss Universe pageant in Florida, USA this May. She was crowned Miss France 2021 last December.
Miss France organization's national director Sylvie Tellier made the announcement last week. She also revealed that Miss France 2020 from Guadeloupe, Clémence Botino, will instead compete in another edition of Miss Universe later this year.
(What an honor to represent our country on May 16, 2021 at the 69th Miss Universe ceremony to be held in Hollywood (Florida). I watched it, I dreamed about it, and in May I will be there.)
The 23-year-old beauty from Caen also shared a message for her predecessor. She said: "Ma [Clemence], je tiens particulièrement à te dire ces quelques mots.
(My [Clemence], I particularly want to say these few words to you. You who accompanied me during the preparation for Miss France, you who reassured me and explained. Together we have chosen what will be the best for us. I will not forget our discussion. I'll be there for you in December! You can always count on me.)
Amandine will try to bring home her country's third Miss Universe title previously won by Christiane Martel in 1953 and Iris Mittenaere in 2016.
