Miss Universe India 2020 Adline Castelino tests positive for COVID-19

India's representative in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe pageant this May, Adline Castelino, has been tested positive for COVID-19.

In a post on social media, she revealed having recently developed mild symptoms and her test results came back positive for the infection.

"I have quarantined myself and am taking the necessary precautions to get better. If you have come in contact with me in the past week, I urge you all to please get yourself tested," she said.

The 22-year-old is determined to fight through this and asked everyone to wear masks and follow government protocols.

"We need to be a symbol of strength in challenging times."

Miss Santa Monica, Samantha Ramos was crowned Miss California USA 2024 on Sunday, June 23 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Garden Grove. The Mexican-American mentor, model, and restaurant franchisee from Fullerton will now prepare to represent California at the Miss USA 2024 pageant in Hollywood, California this August. Following the arrival of the 29 contestants vying for Reina Hispanoamericana 2022, an official presentation took place on Monday, March 13 at the Radisson Hotel in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Standouts were the representatives of Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, and the USA. Prior to the red carpet presentation, the contestants earlier received their official sashes with the names of the countries or territories they represent. Guatemala's Camila Riveiro was awarded Mejor Traje Tipico (Best in National Costume) during the Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 national costume competition held on Sunday, March 19 in Porongo, Bolivia. The winning national costume was designed and created by the talented Guatemalan artist and costume designer César Alejandro Portillo.
