South Africa's Gizzelle Uys wins Miss Eco International 2020

Gizzelle Uys of South Africa was crowned Miss Eco International 2020 in a competition held at the Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh in South Sinai, Egypt on Sunday, April 4.

The 23-year-old actress, model and dancer who hails from Pretoria bested 38 other beauties to win the international pageant.

Kelley Day of the Philippines and Alexandria Kelly of the United States of America were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Steffanía Rodríguez of Venezuela and Kristel Ruiz Freeman of Costa Rica completed the Top 5.

The new Miss Eco International succeeds Amy Nur Tinie Abdul Aziz of Malaysia who took over the title after the last winner from Peru, Suheyn Cipriani, was dethroned.

Hosted by Nancy Magdy, the event was the 6th edition of the pageant that aims to promote the protection and preservation of our environment.

Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. "This is a dream that has been 8 years in the making for me," said the new National American Miss Alabama who first joined the state pageant when she was 15 years old. Amadea Zupan was crowned Miss Slovenia 2024 (Miss World Slovenia) in a national competition held on Friday, January 10 in Lendava. The 26-year-old medical student at the University of Ljubljana beat 12 other contestants to win the title. She received the crown from her predecessor Alida Tomanič. Katja Zver was named first runner-up while Neja Prosenjak finished as second runner-up and also bagged the Miss Personality award. Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Aside from the international title, the 23-year-old model also bagged the Best in Swimsuit award. He succeeds last year's winner from Thailand, Kim Goodburn. Singaporean lawyer Madeleine Poh was crowned Mrs. Petite Global 2025 in an international pageant held on January 9 at Shantanand Auditorium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
