American rapper Pitbull to perform at the 69th Miss Universe pageant


Miss Universe Organization has announced on Friday that American rapper Pitbull will be the guest performer in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe competition.

Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Pérez, also goes by the nicknames "Mr. Worldwide" and "Mr. 305" (Miami's area code). Many of his hits have paid tribute to the streets and landmarks from his Miami upbringing.

The 69th Miss Universe pageant will air live around the world from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Sunday, May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Miss International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Aside from the international title, the 23-year-old model also bagged the Best in Swimsuit award. He succeeds last year's winner from Thailand, Kim Goodburn. Nguyen Man Lan of Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively. Puerto Rico's María Cepero crowned Miss Intercontinental 2024

María Cepero Jiménez of Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2024 on Friday, December 6 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The 26-year-old law student beat over 50 other contestants to win her country's 5th Miss Intercontinental title. She succeeds last year's winner Chatnalin Chotjirawarachat from Thailand. Georgette Musrie of Venezuela was named first runner-up while Alyssa Redondo of the Philippines finished as the second runners-up. The semifinal round of Miss Polski 2024 (Miss Poland 2024) took place on Friday, April 26 at Hotel Kolumna Park in Przygoń. Amber Rustenberg was crowned Miss Nederland 2024 (Miss Netherlands 2024) in a national competition held on Sunday, June 16 at Studio 21 in Hilversum. The 23-year-old entrepreneur from Amsterdam edged out nine other finalists to win the national title. She succeeds Rikkie Valerie Kollé , last year's winner and the first-ever transgender woman to represent the Netherlands at Miss Universe. According to the distinguished panel of judges, they chose the new Miss Nederland because she is "eloquent, authentic, intelligent, confident, positive in life, and has a warm personality which she radiates on stage." Rikkie Valerie Kollé was crowned Miss Nederland 2023 (Miss Universe Netherlands 2023) on Saturday, July 8 at the AFAS Theater in Leusden. The 22-year-old Dutch-Moluccan model and actress living in Breda succeeds Ona Moody and will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador. Nathalie Mogbelzada, 26, from Amsterdam, was named first runner-up while Habiba Mostafa and Lou Dirchs were awarded Miss Congeniality and Miss Social Media, respectively. The Miss Universe Organization has officially announced Chelsea Manalo of the Philippines as the Best in National Costume winner at Miss Universe 2024. Completing the Top 3 finalists for the special award were Emilia Dides from Chile (second place) and Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen from Vietnam (third place). Chelsea's national costume "Hiraya" meaning "the fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations" was voted the ultimate winner among 125 costumes showcased on this year's Miss Universe stage. Created by Filipino fashion designer Manny Halasan, the winning costume was a homage to the Philippines' diverse history and culture.
