Denmark's Amanda Petri takes off for US to compete in the 69th Miss Universe pageant

Miss Universe Denmark 2020 Amanda Petri was surprised by her Miss Denmark sisters, national director, friends, and family before taking off at Copenhagen Airport to compete in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in the US.

The 23-year-old international business student who hails from Gentofte was officially announced as Miss Universe Denmark 2020 last March. She was crowned Miss Denmark 2017 and went on to compete in the Miss World 2017 pageant in China.

"Wow, what a difficult journey it has been with preparations during complete lockdown," Miss Universe Denmark National Director Lisa Lents said on its official social media page.

"Still we managed to create home studios with the best crew and do everything we could to prepare in the best possible way," she added.

"This time we want to show, that we can do it. Little Denmark, little Europe can compete with the bigger countries with a sash factor. We don’t want Europe to be considered as the weakest link among all continents. We are preparing just as hard and want it as much as the others, if not more."

Lisa also mentioned that they are inspired by countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, South Africa, Colombia, and Puerto Rico who are getting a massive amount of support from their fans, press, and sponsors.

Amanda will compete with over 70 other beauties from around the world to win the coveted Miss Universe title at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on May 16.

Panama's Italy Mora disqualified from Miss Universe 2024

A few days after arriving in Mexico for Miss Universe 2024, Miss Universe Panama 2024 Italy Mora has been officially removed from the competition. No reasons were disclosed for her disqualification because according to the Miss Universe Organization: "Confidentiality is a fundamental pillar of any disciplinary process. By protecting sensitive and personal information, we not only ensure fairness and equity in our decisions, but also the dignity of all involved." MUO also said in an official statement released on Friday, November 1 that their decision to disqualify Miss Universe Panama has been taken "after a thorough evaluation by our disciplinary commission." Panama's Italy Mora speaks out on her withdrawal from Miss Universe 2024

Miss Universe Panama 2024 Italy Mora has spoken out for the first time since her departure from the ongoing Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico. According to Italy, she was informed by the Miss Universe Organization on Friday, November 1, before the Gala de las Catrinas event, that she had to leave the competition. India's Rachel Gupta was crowned Miss Grand International 2024 in a glittering final show on Friday, October 25 at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. Miss Suriname 2025 is Chiara Wijntuin

Chiara Wijntuin was crowned Miss Suriname 2025 in a national competition held on Saturday, November 2 at the Assuria Event Center in Paramaribo. The 21-year-old student bested 14 other contestants to win the title and she is now expected to represent Suriname at Miss Universe 2025. Kyran Rampersad and Kimberly Kersting were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
