Denmark's Amanda Petri takes off for US to compete in the 69th Miss Universe pageant

Miss Universe Denmark 2020 Amanda Petri was surprised by her Miss Denmark sisters, national director, friends, and family before taking off at Copenhagen Airport to compete in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in the US.

The 23-year-old international business student who hails from Gentofte was officially announced as Miss Universe Denmark 2020 last March. She was crowned Miss Denmark 2017 and went on to compete in the Miss World 2017 pageant in China.

"Wow, what a difficult journey it has been with preparations during complete lockdown," Miss Universe Denmark National Director Lisa Lents said on its official social media page.

"Still we managed to create home studios with the best crew and do everything we could to prepare in the best possible way," she added.

"This time we want to show, that we can do it. Little Denmark, little Europe can compete with the bigger countries with a sash factor. We don’t want Europe to be considered as the weakest link among all continents. We are preparing just as hard and want it as much as the others, if not more."

Lisa also mentioned that they are inspired by countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, South Africa, Colombia, and Puerto Rico who are getting a massive amount of support from their fans, press, and sponsors.

Amanda will compete with over 70 other beauties from around the world to win the coveted Miss Universe title at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida on May 16.

Miss Belgium 2025 is Karen Jansen of Limburg

Karen Jansen, representing the Dutch province of Limburg, was crowned Miss Belgium 2025 on Saturday, February 15 in De Panne. The 23-year-old psychology student and freelance model from Lommel bested more than 30 other contestants to win the national competition. She succeeds last year's winner, Kenza Ameloot. Jane Baesen and Astrid Lafaut were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Axana Carmoy and Kiana Verstraete were the other runners-up. The new Miss Belgium is now expected to represent "The Land of Waffles and Fries" at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Miss Universe 2025: Thailand to host the 74th Miss Universe pageant

Thailand has been officially announced as the host country for the Miss Universe 2025 competition. The Miss Universe Organization unveiled the ultimate destination for the 74th Miss Universe pageant at a press conference in New York City. Before the exciting announcement, several countries were mentioned as possible hosts including Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Spain, South Africa, Nigeria, and the Philippines. Dia Maté of the Philippines was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 on Sunday, February 9 at the Salón Sirionó, Fexpocruz in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Cavite became the second Filipina to win the international pageant next to Teresita Ssen Marquez who won in 2017. She also bagged the Best in National Costume award. Her costume "Banaag" by Ehrran Montoya was inspired by her country's baroque churches recognized in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Vietnam's Danh Chieu Linh is the new Mister Global 2021

Mister Global 2021 first runner-up Danh Chieu Linh of Vietnam was officially announced as the new Mister Global 2021 replacing Spain's Miguel Ángel Lucas Carrasco who won the title last March in Thailand. The Mister Global Organization made the official proclamation on Monday, September 5 during a press conference at Sofitel Saigon Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City. Mister Global Cuba Juan Carlos Ariosa beat 38 other competitors to win Mister Global 2022 held on Saturday, February 11 at the Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Valentina Alekseeva was crowned Miss Russia 2024 during the national competition held on Saturday, October 5 in Moscow. The 18-year-old model from Chuvashia will now prepare to represent Russia at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this coming November.
