Miss Lesotho 2021 Tiisetso Seliane to compete at the 70th Miss World final in Puerto Rico

Tiisetso Seliane bested 10 other finalists to be crowned Miss Lesotho 2021 at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru last May 29.

The 24-year-old aspiring teacher from Hlotse is currently an education student at the National University of Lesotho (NUL).

Poelano Mothisi was named the first princess while Rapelang Ntsane became the second princess.

The new Miss Lesotho will represent her southern African country at the 70th Miss World (Miss World 2021) pageant later this year in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

"I have always known that life will lead me to a career that will put me in front of people. I enjoy the freedom to be myself, loving, caring, crazy and loud," she said.

The annual Miss Lesotho pageant was launched in 1978. Last year, the competition was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Melloney Dassanayake was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2024 during the national competition held on Friday, September 27 at Citrus Waskaduwa. Over 20 beauties have already been confirmed as representatives of their respective countries and territories for the 71st Miss World edition. The final competition and official venue of the prestigious pageant are yet to be announced by the Miss World Organization. The 21-year-old model and business administration student from Arad will represent her country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant to be held next year possibly in the USA. Miruna Alexandra Doldor, Pălimariu Diana Nicole, and Ada-Maria Ileana were the runners-up while Cristina Brudiu was named Miss Popularity Romania 2020. Makaʻala Perry is the newly appointed Miss International Hawaii 2023 and will represent the Aloha State at Miss International 2023 in Japan this October. The 24-year-old flight attendant, business owner, and musician was announced as Priscilla Wang's successor for the national title last month. Besides working for Hawaiian Airlines and running her own business called Sunbeams Creamery, a dessert shop located in Wahiawa, she is also pursuing her bachelor of arts degree in music at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
