No more minimum height requirement for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant

Miss Universe Philippines organization has finally got rid of its minimum height requirements for this year's competition.

Maria Thattil, Miss Universe Australia 2020 and 69th Miss Universe Top 10 placer, has lauded the national organization for changing its rules.

The age requirement was also adjusted. Although the minimum age is still 18 years old but entrants should be under 28 years old at the time of the national pageant.

Other requirements stayed the same. Entrants must be Filipino citizens and Philippine passport holders, at least a high school graduate and female, who has never been married nor has borne children.

National director Shamcey Supsup-Lee's statement in an interview regarding transgender women became controversial. She said that they will accept transgender applicants as long as they can provide legal proof of being female and have already gone through reassignment surgery.

The organization has yet to announce the final date and venue for Miss Universe Philippines 2021. Applications are open until June 24.

Miss Fairfield USA Jenna Hofmann was crowned Miss Connecticut USA 2025 on Sunday, January 26 at the Marriott Hartford Windsor Airport in Windsor, Connecticut. The highly anticipated official presentation of the 24 contestants vying for Miss Venezuela 2022 took place on Saturday, November 10 in Caracas. Hosted by "Súper Sábado Sensacional" presenter Henrys Silva, the special show aired on Venevisión with simultaneous live streaming on missvenezuela.tv . Melloney Dassanayake was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2024 during the national competition held on Friday, September 27 at Citrus Waskaduwa. The 25-year-old banker and professional model from Colombo beat 17 other contestants to win the title and will now represent Sri Lanka at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. Over 20 beauties have already been confirmed as representatives of their respective countries and territories for the 71st Miss World edition. The final competition and official venue of the prestigious pageant are yet to be announced by the Miss World Organization. Bianca Lorena Tirsin was officially named Miss Universe Romania 2020 on Tuesday, December 1 in a special announcement that aired on Romanian TV channel Antena Stars. The 21-year-old model and business administration student from Arad will represent her country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant to be held next year possibly in the USA. Miruna Alexandra Doldor, Pălimariu Diana Nicole, and Ada-Maria Ileana were the runners-up while Cristina Brudiu was named Miss Popularity Romania 2020. Makaʻala Perry is the newly appointed Miss International Hawaii 2023 and will represent the Aloha State at Miss International 2023 in Japan this October. The 24-year-old flight attendant, business owner, and musician was announced as Priscilla Wang's successor for the national title last month. Besides working for Hawaiian Airlines and running her own business called Sunbeams Creamery, a dessert shop located in Wahiawa, she is also pursuing her bachelor of arts degree in music at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Miss Central Ohio, Mackenzie Schutt was crowned Miss Ohio USA 2023 in a state competition held on Saturday, May 20 at The Vern Riffe Center for the Arts in Portsmouth. The 27-year-old model and personal trainer from Columbus holds a degree in kinesiology and exercise science from Calvin University (formerly Calvin College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mackenzie joined the pageant several times before finally winning the title. She succeeds last year's winner and Miss USA 2022 third runner-up Sir'Quora Carroll, and will now represent the state of Ohio at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada this fall.
