70th Miss Universe contestants tour Jerusalem old city in Israel


Despite imposing travel restrictions due to the Omicron coronavirus variant, Israel's hosting of the 70th Miss Universe pageant is pushing through.

The contestants were taken to a tour of Jerusalem's old city on Tuesday, November 30 in their sneakers, pantsuits, and cocktail dresses. They visited some notable landmarks in the city such as the Tower of David Museum and Jerusalem Botanical Gardens.

Their final itinerary of the day was a tea party at King David Hotel where they met with important persons such as Mayor Moshe Lion, local female politicians, and heads of organizations that fight poverty and violence against women.

Over 70 beauties are expected to continue their journey to the Miss Universe crown in Eilat next week where they will go through a series of pre-pageant activities and preliminary competitions prior to the final on December 12.

Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 is Clara Vegas of Miranda

Clara Vegas triumphed over 21 other contestants to win the title of Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 on Thursday, December 4 in Caracas. The 23-year-old model and actress from Miranda will represent Venezuela at the Miss Universe 2026 pageant to be held in Puerto Rico. Maria Evangelista Alayon of Amazonas was named first runner-up while Milena Paola Soto of Mérida, Gabriela de la Cruz of Yaracuy, and Gabriela Villegas of Monagas were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Universe Japan 2025 is Kaori Hashimoto from Tochigi Prefecture

Kaori Hashimoto was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2025 in a national competition held on Wednesday, July 16 in Shibuya. The 21-year-old business administration student from Tochigi Prefecture beat over 40 other contestants to win the national title. Saki Fujita and Reina Ishii were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Chiemi Takayama and Naomi Monique Kamidate were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Kaya Chakrabortty, last year's winner who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2024 held in Mexico, crowned her successor at the end of the event. The "land of a thousand lakes" is set to stage the inaugural Miss Face International pageant in the summer of 2026. Sarah Anjelica Dzafce bested nine other contestants to win Miss Suomi 2025 (Miss Universe Finland 2025) on Saturday, September 6 at Hybridiarena Hype in Espoo. Anouk Eman bested five other competitors to win Miss Universe Aruba 2024 on Saturday, August 10 at the Aruba Marriott Grand Ballroom. The 32-year-old fashion model and scoliosis awareness advocate will represent Aruba at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. She succeeds last year's winner Karol Croes. Giulia Brezovar was named first runner-up. The other contestants were Naomi Croes, Irviljen Hato, Marie Sonise Elliassaint, and Sasha Williams. Veena Praveenar Singh bested 76 other contestants to win Miss Universe Thailand 2025 in a spectacular show on Saturday, August 23 at MGI Hall in Bangkok. The 29-year-old beauty representing the province of Saraburi will now prepare to compete in the upcoming Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Polish-American Emily Reng was officially announced by the Miss Polonia organization as Miss Universe Poland 2025 on Wednesday, October 22. The 20-year-old will now prepare to represent Poland at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this coming November. Former Miss France Eve Gilles has been officially named Miss Universe France 2025 by the Miss France organization. The 22-year-old model from Quaëdypre is set to represent France at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant to be held in Thailand this November. Eve first gained recognition when she was crowned Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2023 and later won Miss France 2024 in Dijon, making her the fourth woman from her region to achieve this honor.
