70th Miss Universe: Who stood out from the preliminary competition?


The glittering 70th Miss Universe preliminary competition and national costume show took place last night at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel.

Eighty of the world's most beautiful and empowered women paraded in their swimsuits and evening gowns in front of an all-female panel of the selection committee.

Following the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competition, the national costume show took place where the contestants showcased their colorful costumes that represent the wonderful culture and tradition of their countries.

Overall standouts who gave the strongest presentations were from Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Guatemala, India, Italy, Malta, Nepal, Nigeria, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, USA, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

The contestants who also performed well on stage were from Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Croatia, Curacao, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Greece, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Namibia, South Africa, and The Bahamas.

Reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza hosted the preliminary swimsuit and evening competition with American TV personality Carson Kressley, and the national costume show with American producer Nick Teplitz.

At the end of the preliminary competition, Chantel O'Brian of The Bahamas was awarded the Spirit of Carnival Award while Antonia Figueroa of Chile received the Social Impact Award.

Scores from the crucial preliminary competition will help determine the semi-finalists on the 70th Miss Universe final show on Sunday, December 12.

Plus-sized Sara Milliken crowned Miss Alabama for National American Miss 2024

Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. "This is a dream that has been 8 years in the making for me," said the new National American Miss Alabama who first joined the state pageant when she was 15 years old. Miss Slovenia 2024 is Amadea Zupan from Sežana

Amadea Zupan was crowned Miss Slovenia 2024 (Miss World Slovenia) in a national competition held on Friday, January 10 in Lendava. The 26-year-old medical student at the University of Ljubljana beat 12 other contestants to win the title. She received the crown from her predecessor Alida Tomanič. Katja Zver was named first runner-up while Neja Prosenjak finished as second runner-up and also bagged the Miss Personality award. Angélique Angarni-Filopon from Martinique beat 29 other contestants to win Miss France 2025 on Saturday, December 14 at the Futuroscope Arena in Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The 34-year-old flight attendant became the oldest winner of the prestigious national pageant. She also made history as the first woman from Martinique to become Miss France. Nigeria's Samuel Nwajagu wins Mister International 2024

Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Aside from the international title, the 23-year-old model also bagged the Best in Swimsuit award. He succeeds last year's winner from Thailand, Kim Goodburn. Nguyen Man Lan of Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively. The Miss America 2025 final competition will be held this Sunday, January 5 at The Walt Disney Theater of the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida. You can watch the Miss America as well as Miss America's Teen 2025 preliminary competition, talent competition, gala fashion show, and finals live streaming on PageantVision.com   site.
