Harnaaz Sandhu returns to India after winning the 70th Miss Universe pageant


India's third Miss Universe titleholder Harnaaz Sandhu has arrived back in her home country after winning the prestigious 70th Miss Universe pageant in Israel on Sunday.

The 21-year-old wore a red shimmery silhouette dress by Bhawna Rao during her arrival in Mumbai. Excited fans and members of the media flocked to the airport to see their newly crowned queen.

A grand welcome celebration is being planned by the Miss Diva organization for the new Miss Universe after she completes her 7-day quarantine period.

After her visit to India, Harnaaz is expected to fly to the United States where she will be based in New York during her reign as Miss Universe 2021.

India waited 21 years since Lara Duta won Miss Universe 2000 to bring the coveted crown back again to the country.

Julia Ann Cluett, representing Floriana, was crowned Miss Universe Malta 2025 on Thursday, July 3 at Hilton Malta in St Julian's. She edged out 16 other contestants to win the national title. The 27-year-old HR and office coordinator will now prepare to represent Malta at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. She succeeds last year's winner Beatrice Njoya. Maria Gabriela Lacerda, representing the state of Piauí, was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2025 on Thursday, February 13 in Alphaville, São Paulo. The 22-year-old journalist bested 23 other contestants to win the beauty title. She received her crown from Brazil's first Miss Universe winner, Miss Universe 1963 Ieda Maria Vargas. Aline Fritsch of Rio Grande do Sul and Ana Carolina Ceolin Comério of Espírito Santo were the first and second runners-up, respectively. "This crown is ours, my Piauí.
