Miss World 2021 Top 40: Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia
The Miss World 2021 Top 40 will return to Puerto Rico to compete for the 70th Miss World final at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan on March 16.
Meet the semi-finalists from Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Kenya, Madagascar, and Malaysia:
HUNGARY - Lili Totpeti - Lili is currently studying Event Management at University and her proudest moment is when she got accepted to University. She enjoys horse riding, painting and drawing and traditional folk dancing. In her spare time, Lili rescues stray and abandoned animals. Her favorite book is ‘The Great Gatsby.’ ‘Intouchables’ is her favorite film and she enjoys watching David Attenborough programs.
Lili’s Beauty with a Purpose project supports abandoned and abused animals. This includes visiting animal shelters to give donations and provide loving care to the animals.

ICELAND - Hugrun Egilsdottir - Hugrun is currently a Marketing Student as well as working as a Make-Up Artist. Hugrun is also a certified trainer in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She enjoys playing the piano and dancing. ‘The Power of Now’ is her favorite book. Her favorite YouTube channel is watching David Attenborough she also enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures.
As her Beauty with a Purpose, Hugrun is a spokesperson and volunteer for Mæðrastyrksnefnd Reykjavíkur (Mothers Support Association) which provides poverty assistance for single parents.

INDIA - Manasa Varanasi - Manasa is a graduate of Computer Science Engineering and had recently been working as a Financial Information Analyst. She has future ambitions to host her own talk and news show. She enjoys swimming, table tennis and badminton. Manasa is also a trained classical Indian dancer and has recently started learning Sign Language.
Manasa chose the name “10-9-8” for her Beauty with a Purpose project as 1098 is a child helpline number that is easy to remember yet still unknown to many people. The aim is to facilitate the rescue and rehabilitation of vulnerable children in Manasa’s home state of Telangana where cases of child marriage, forced child labour and sexual abuse are increasing due to Covid. The project is supported by the Police and Telangana Government’s Child Welfare Department.

INDONESIA - Carla Yules - Carla has a Diploma in Hospitality specialising in cooking, patisserie and baking. She is currently working as a host and a model. She enjoys painting and playing basketball and has recently started to learn to play the Ukulele. Carla also has an interest in Fashion Design. Her greatest fear is not being able to make her parents happy and proud.
Carla chose Ciwalen Village for the focus of her Beauty with a Purpose project. The first part of her project was to renovate and build their water turbine, which meant the villagers had electricity in their homes. Carla also provided the villagers with free transportation to receive their Covid-19 vaccinations.

IRELAND - Pamela Uba - Having graduated with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Chemistry, from Trinity College in Dublin, Pamela is currently working as a Medical Scientist and a part-time model and has ambitions to work as a Consultant Biochemist. She has an interest in football and dance and enjoys singing. ‘The Note Book’ is Pamela’s favorite film and she has a pet dog called Baeby who is part German Shepard and Akita.
Pamela’s Beauty with a Purpose focuses on promoting inclusivity and diversity in Ireland through action. Pamela has launched several projects. The first project was a fundraiser entitled “Make Education a Superpower” which raised funds for educational equipment, such as upcycled iPads, for children living in direct provision, a system of asylum seeker accommodation. Pamela also launched the environmental awareness campaign “I’ve Planted a Tree” and the “Recycle Mobility Campaign” to raise funds for trikes and awareness for children with mobility issues.

KENYA - Sharon Obara - Sharon completed a Diploma in French and is currently studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology she would eventually like to run her own Psychiatric Practice. She enjoys baking and the arts and is a model and brand influencer. Her favorite film is ‘Hotel Rwanda’ and her favorite book is ‘Becoming’ by Michelle Obama.
Sharon used her experience as a psychology graduate to start her Beauty with a Purpose project “Destigmatizing Mental Healthcare”. For over two years, Sharon has been working with children with neurological and cognitive disorders. Since becoming Miss World Kenya 2021, Sharon has been granted support from the Kenyan government to help normalize conversations around Mental Wellness. Sharon has reached over 130,000 Kenyans while raising awareness on Mental Healthcare access.

MADAGASCAR - Nellie Anjaratiana - After studying Science and Customer Relations, Nellie is currently working in the Insurance Sector but would eventually like to work in the Health Sector. She enjoys dancing and swimming. Her favorite song is, ‘I Don’t Care’ by Ed Sheeran and she enjoys all sorts of Pop and R&B music.
Nellie’s Beauty with a Purpose project “Mananjary” works to eradicate the stigma of twins in ethnic groups. There is a belief in these groups that the acceptance of twins leads to a curse on the whole family so twins are often abandoned by their parents. Nellie is working with town leaders to persuade them to abandon the culture of cursed twins and also met with the Minister of Culture who pledged her support for the implementation of this project. Nellie also provides education and food aid for these children.

MALAYSIA - Lavanya Sivaji - Lavanya is a Medical Graduate and aspires to be a Public Health Specialist for the World Health Organisation. In her spare time, Lavanya likes to draw comics. Her favorite film is ‘The Night of the Museum’ and TED is her all-time favorite YouTube Channel. Her biggest fear is regret and not being able to follow and fulfil her dreams.
Her Beauty with a Purpose project ‘4 Them Malaysia’ supports the health and nutrition issues of the Orong Asli indigenous community in Malaysia. Dr Lavanya has fundraised to provide this community with food, health and hygiene kits. Lavanya also travels to different villages to teach the children about basic hygiene, first aid practices and medicine.
