Former Miss Earth Katherine Espin announces engagement to boyfriend Daniel Lopez


Former Miss Earth Katherine Espin has announced her engagement to commercial real estate agent boyfriend Daniel Lopez.

The beauty queen turned lawyer and national director shared the unexpected proposal that took place in Manhattan, New York on her social media account with the caption: "I said yes to the love of my life. Life put us together and now God will keep us together forever."

"I still can’t believe this is happening in my life. I dreamt of this moment all my life and once again I believe that dreams come true," she wrote in another post with a video of the proposal.

"I can’t wait for all that life has prepared for us. Thank you for making me the happiest woman every day, I love you forever my love," she added.

Katherin represented Ecuador at Miss Earth 2016 in the Philippines, at the age of 24. She bested 82 other contestants from around the world to win her country's second Miss Earth crown next to Olga Álava who won in 2011.

During her reign, she has traveled to Angola, Ghana, Reunion Island, Singapore, the United States, the Middle East, Puerto Rico, Chile, and numerous trips around the Philippines while advocating environmental preservation.

Jutta Pokuah Addo, representing the Central Region, was crowned Miss Ghana 2025 (Miss World Ghana) on Saturday, March 29 at the Avenue Event Center in Accra. The 20-year-old law student bested 12 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent Ghana at the Miss World 2025 competition in Telangana, India this May. Miss Hawaii USA 2025 is Issha Rose Mata from Hilo

Issha Rose Mata, representing the town of Hilo, bested 16 other contestants to win Miss Hawaii USA 2025 on Saturday, March 22 at Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. The 29-year-old model and digital marketing specialist was crowned by last year's winner and Miss USA 2024 Top 10 finalist Breea Yamat. Mikaela Bega of Maui was named first runner-up while Kristi Van Diver-Kometani of Kakaako, Alexia Locquiao Sommers of Kahala, and Faith Alvior of Valley Isle were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The Miss World organization has officially announced the final date and host country of the 72nd Miss World competition. According to MWO, this year's competition will last 28 days, from May 4 to May 31 in India. It will be held at various destinations in Telangana, a state with a rich legacy and modern vibe. Four new queens have been crowned at the culmination of the Bellezas Globales de Nicaragua 2025 pageant held on Sunday, March 23 at the Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Managua. Jasmine Omay has been appointed as Universal Woman Philippines 2025 and was officially crowned in a special ceremony held on Tuesday, March 25 in Quezon City. The 27-year-old events host, model and pilot from Tarlac will represent the Philippines at the Universal Woman 2025 pageant in Jaipur, India this June. Andrea Nikolić was crowned Miss Montenegro 2025 in a national competition held on Monday, March 31 at Hotel Podgorica. The 21-year-old law student bested 10 other finalists to win the title.
