Poland's Karolina Bielawska crowned the 70th Miss World
Poland's Karolina Bielawska has been crowned the 70th Miss World (Miss World 2022) at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Wednesday, March 16.
The 23-year-old model and master's degree student in management from the central Polish city of Lodz succeeds the longest-reigning Miss World from Jamaica, Toni-Ann Singh.
"I still cannot believe it. I'm often very talkative but right now I'm definitely speechless. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and I cannot wait for this amazing adventure," she said shortly after winning her title.
Shree Saini of the United States clinched the first runner-up title while Olivia Yace of Cote d'Ivoire was named the second runner-up.
Indonesia's Carla Yules, Mexico's Karolina Vidales, and Northern Ireland's Anna Leitch were the Top 6 finalists.
The contestants from Colombia, Andrea Aguilera, Czech Republic, Karolína Kopíncová, France, April Benayoum, India, Manasa Varanasi, Philippines, Tracy Maureen Perez, Somalia, Khadija Omar, and Vietnam, Do Thi Ha completed the Top 13.
The new Miss World is the second representative from Poland to win the coveted title next to Aneta Kręglicka who won in 1989.
Miss World 2022 final was broadcasted globally to over 100 countries. Out of over 90 contestants, only the Top 40 semi-finalists returned to Puerto Rico after the pageant was canceled last December due to an outbreak of COVID-19.
