Miss Supranational 2022 is South Africa's Lalela Mswane
Lalela Mswane from South Africa was crowned Miss Supranational 2022 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland on Friday, July 15.
The 25-year-old law graduate and model who hails from Richards Bay in the KwaZulu-Natal province bested 68 other contestants from around the world to win her country's first Miss Supranational crown. She succeeds last year's winner from Namibia, Chanique Rabe.
Praewwanich Ruangthong of Thailand was named first runner-up while Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen of Vietnam finished second runner-up. The representatives from Venezuela, Ismelys Velásquez, and Indonesia, Adinda Cresheilla were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Completing the Top 12 were Colombia, Czech Republic, India, Kenya, Mauritius, Peru, and Poland.
Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Jamaica, Malaysia, Namibia, Philippines, Romania, and Trinidad and Tobago were the rest of the Top 24.
The new Miss Supranational is no stranger to pageantry. She won Miss South Africa 2021 and before getting appointed as Miss Supranational South Africa 2022, she went on to compete at Miss Universe 2021 pageant in Eilat, Israel last December where she finished as second runner-up.
Themed "Aspirational, Inspirational" the 13th Miss Supranational competition was held for the second time in the Małopolska region. This year's edition introduced a brand new crown crafted by renowned Mexican jewelry designer Ricardo Patraca.
