Miss Universe Philippines and Indonesia discuss cyberbullying with Paula Shugart


Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi and Miss Universe Indonesia 2022 Laksmi De Neefe Suardana sat down with Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart in another #UniverseUnited.

#UniverseUnited is a conversation series initiated by MUO to bring our global community together to talk about important issues.

The Miss Universe 2022 contenders discussed cyberbullying, its impact on the women in the pageant community, and how kindness can be spread instead of negativity.

Promoting the hashtag #kindnesscampaign, the important conversation streamed live on the Miss Universe's official YouTube channel on Wednesday, July 27.

Pageant fans from the Philippines and Indonesia are some of the world's most passionate countries when it comes to pageantry.

The toxic "rivalry" has led to the nasty bullying of their representatives across social media in recent years.

Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. "This is a dream that has been 8 years in the making for me," said the new National American Miss Alabama who first joined the state pageant when she was 15 years old. Miss Slovenia 2024 is Amadea Zupan from Sežana

Amadea Zupan was crowned Miss Slovenia 2024 (Miss World Slovenia) in a national competition held on Friday, January 10 in Lendava. The 26-year-old medical student at the University of Ljubljana beat 12 other contestants to win the title. She received the crown from her predecessor Alida Tomanič. Katja Zver was named first runner-up while Neja Prosenjak finished as second runner-up and also bagged the Miss Personality award. The 34-year-old flight attendant became the oldest winner of the prestigious national pageant. She also made history as the first woman from Martinique to become Miss France. Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Aside from the international title, the 23-year-old model also bagged the Best in Swimsuit award. He succeeds last year's winner from Thailand, Kim Goodburn. Singaporean lawyer Madeleine Poh was crowned Mrs. Petite Global 2025 in an international pageant held on January 9 at Shantanand Auditorium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
