Brielle Simmons replaces Natalia Salmon as Miss Earth USA 2022
Miss Connecticut Earth, Brielle Simmons, who was a Top 4 finalist and was named Miss Earth USA - Water during the national competition held earlier this year, has been appointed as the new Miss Earth USA 2022.
The 21-year-old student at St. John's University in New York majoring in legal studies with a focus on environmental law took over the title from Natalia Salmon for unknown reasons.
Miss Earth USA organization made the official announcement last month.
Brielle is the co-founder of Bringing Me Sunshine, a non-profit dedicated to combating homelessness and poverty, by providing environmental resources to children and families. She has earned the Presidential Bronze Service Award and is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
To decrease her carbon footprint, she embraces a vegetarian lifestyle, shops locally, and rather walks than drives. She has spent her volunteer hours with Casey Trees planting trees in her nation’s capital and with the Anacostia Watershed Society cleaning the waterways and surrounding areas.
The new Miss Earth USA will represent her country at the Miss Earth 2022 pageant which is expected to be held in the Philippines later this year.
