Miss Scotland 2022 is Lucy Sophia Thomson


Lucy Sophia Thomson bested 10 other finalists to be crowned Miss Scotland 2022 on Friday, July 29 at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.

The 23-year-old beauty representing Fife from Dunfermline succeeds last year's winner Claudia Todd and will represent Scotland at the 71st Miss World pageant.

Olivia McPike from Kirkintilloch and Ailsa Black from Edinburgh were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The new Miss Scotland took to social media to thank her friends, family, and supporters who inspired and helped her succeed in her journey to the national crown.

"My smile says it all. What a whirlwind the last 48 hours have been. I don't think it's sunk in yet," she wrote.

Lucy holds a master's degree in business management from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in international management from the University of Strathclyde. She is active in her community and founded a non-profit organization The BRAvery Trust, a bra and menstrual product donation charity that helps people living in period poverty.

Miss World Thailand 2026 is Kanteera Techaphattanakul of Chiang Mai

Kanteera "Namphueng" Techaphattanakul was proclaimed Miss World Thailand 2026 on Sunday, May 10 at MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Bangkok. The 25-year-old medical technologist representing Chiang Mai beat 20 other contestants to win the national title. She was crowned by her predecessor Opal Suchata Chuangsri who became Thailand's first Miss World last year. Malaika Khan and Jirapat Dathumma were respectively announced the first and second runners-up while Atina Khontarosaphan Vasnaarchasakul and Pannika Boonsiritakorn rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Olivia Yacé of Côte d'Ivoire steps down as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania

Miss Universe Côte d'Ivoire 2025 Olivia Yacé has officially announced on Monday, November 24 her resignation as Miss Universe Africa and Oceania. "As the representative of Côte d'Ivoire at the Miss Universe 2025 competition in Bangkok, i witnessed firsthand that i was capable of accomplishing great things despite adversity," Olivia wrote on social media. Nadia Mejia-Webb, representing Comunidad USA, was crowned Miss Universe Ecuador 2025 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 26 at Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil. The 29-year-old model and singer will now prepare to represent Ecuador at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Patthama Jitsawat, representing the Thai province of Chonburi, was crowned Miss Grand Thailand 2026 on Saturday, March 28 at MGI Hall in Bangkok. The 32-year-old beauty edged out 76 other contestants to win the national competition. She succeeds last year's winner Sarunrat Puagpipat of Phuket. Sylvie Tellier officially leaves Miss France organization

After 17 years, former Miss France Sylvie Tellier has officially announced her departure from the Miss France organization. The 44-year-old took to social media on Wednesday, August 31 to make a public statement on her decision to leave, which was made "with a lot of emotion because you don't leave a company after 17 years without memories in your head." The spectacular Miss Universe Philippines 2026 national costume competition took place on Thursday, April 16 at the Urdaneta City Cultural and Sports Center in Pangasinan. This year's show, themed Water, was hosted by the reigning Miss Eco Philippines, Gabbi Carballo. The contestants took to the stage, displaying Filipino artistry through their colorful costumes. Luren Márquez was crowned Miss Peru 2026 (Miss Universe Peru) in a special ceremony held on Wednesday, April 15 at the Teatro Municipal del Callao.
