Miss South Africa 2022 is Ndavi Nokeri
Ndavi Nokeri bested nine other finalists to be crowned Miss South Africa 2022 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, August 13 at the SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria.
The 23-year-old beauty hails from Tzaneen in Limpopo. She holds a degree in investment management from the University of Pretoria and currently works for an asset management firm in Cape Town.
Ayanda Thabethe from KwaZulu-Natal and Lebogang Mahlangu from Gauteng were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
Western Cape's Luvé Meyer and Tamsyn Jack completed the Top 5 finalists.
Reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu from India was a special guest at the event and was part of the all-female selection committee. She was joined in the panel by former queens Zozibini Tunzi and Rolene Strauss.
The new Miss South Africa succeeds last year's titleholder and reigning Miss Supranational Lalela Mswane and will go on to represent her country at Miss Universe 2022, Miss World 2022, or Miss Supranational 2023.
Ndavi describes herself as compassionate, courageous, and relentlessly resilient. She wants to be in the rooms where decisions are made about education and skills development in South African schools with the hopes of sharing meaningful insights that will advance her nation.
South Africa also boasts three Miss Universe and three Miss World winners courtesy of Margaret Gardiner (Miss Universe 1981), Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (Miss Universe 2017), Zozibini Tunzi (Miss Universe 2019), Penelope Coelen (Miss World 1958), Anneline Kriel (Miss World 1974) and Rolene Strauss (Miss World 2014).
