Miss Universe Puerto 2022 preliminary competition, special awards


The preliminary competition of Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 took place on Sunday, August 7 from the historic Teatro Tapia (Tapia Theater) Theater in San Juan.

Hosted by "NotiCentro" journalist Jorge Gelpí Pagán and "Viva la tarde" presenter Nicole Chacón, with musical numbers from Lenny Tavárez and  Christian Daniel, the colorful event featured 28 contestants competing in their preliminary swimsuits and evening gowns.

The judges were veteran journalist Luz Nereida Vélez; lawyer and businesswoman Vivian Santiago; specialist in oral rehabilitation doctor Carlos Izcoa; journalist, writer and columnit for local and Latin American media Ana Teresa Toro; executive producer and casting film director Germán Legarreta; entrepreneur and Women Who Lead founder Frances Ríos; and actor Eli Cay.

Special awards for Best L'Oreal Hair, Best Ceravé and Vichy Skin, Miss Photogenic, and Miss Friendship were respectively awarded to Miss Adjuntas, Mariana Torres Bernard, Miss Fajardo, Ashley Ann Cariño, Miss Isabela, Annelise Torres Colón, and Miss Mayagüez, Ariana Hernández.

Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 final competition will take place this Thursday, August 11 at Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce (Santurce Fine Arts Center). The winner will succeed Michelle Colón, Top 10 placer at Miss Universe 2021, and will represent the Caribbean island at Miss Universe 2022 later this year.

Meet the three winners of Mister RNB España 2024

The Mister RNB España 2024 final competition was held on Saturday, October 12 at the Alannia Salou in Tarragona, a port city in northeastern Spain’s Catalonia region. Forty-four contestants from across the country competed in the pageant where three national titles were at stake. The event was streamed live on its official YouTube channel. The Miss Globe 2024 is Diana Moreno from Colombia

Colombia's Diana Moreno was crowned The Miss Globe 2024 in a glittering competition held on Tuesday, October 15 at the Tirana Olympic Park in Albania. The 27-year-old international business professional bested over 40 competitors to win the global title. She made history as the first Colombian woman to become The Miss Globe. Prada Thansita Dilhokanansa of Thailand was named first runner-up while Jasmin Bungay of the Philippines, Andromeda Schuster of Germany, and Ha Trang Do of Vietnam were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Grand International 2024, the 12th edition of the annual Miss Grand International pageant, is underway in Bangkok, Thailand. A total of 71 grand contestants from different countries and territories around the world have arrived in the host country to compete for the coveted golden crown. Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. Miss International 2024: Meet the contestants

The Miss International organization has officially announced the names of the contestants who are vying for Miss International 2024. A total of 75 beauties from different countries and territories are expected to compete for the coveted international beauty title. The contestants will start arriving in Japan on October 29 and will be immersed in various social, cultural, and educational activities. Reigning Miss International Andrea Rubio from Venezuela will crown her successor on November 12 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. "Sustainability in Pageantry" will be the main theme for the 62nd edition of the pageant. This is in line with its post-pandemic advocacy "Beauties for SDGs" which started in 2022. Bahraini-Filipino Shereen Ahmed crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2024

Shereen Ahmed was recently crowned Miss Universe Bahrain 2024 and will compete in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. The 29-year-old Bahraini-Filipino beauty succeeds last year's winner Lujane Yacoub. She is the fourth woman to represent Bahrain at Miss Universe. Advaita Shetty, Ola Adel, and Jehan Alrowaie were announced as the first, second, and third runners-up, respectively. Valentina Alekseeva was crowned Miss Russia 2024 during the national competition held on Saturday, October 5 in Moscow. The 18-year-old model from Chuvashia will now prepare to represent Russia at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this coming November. Irina Mironova from Tolyatti and Ulyana Evdokimova from St. Petersburg were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. "Honestly, I'm still in shock. It was incredible. Miss Alabama USA 2024 is Diane Westhoven

Miss Southern Plains, Diane Westhoven was crowned Miss Alabama USA 2024 during the state final on Saturday, June 1 at Auburn University's Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center. The 21-year-old student from Birmingham will now prepare to represent Alabama at Miss USA 2024 this summer in Hollywood, California. She succeeds Sophie Burzynski, last year's winner and Miss USA 2023 Top 20 semifinalist. USA's Janelis Leyba was crowned Miss Asia Pacific International 2024 on Monday, October 7 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City, Philippines. The 20-year-old model and student from New York City beat over 30 other contestants to become the first representative from the United States of America to win the international title. Karen Sofia Nuñez of Mexico was named first runner-up while Selena Ali of Belgium, Blessa Ericha Figueroa of the Philippines, and Jennifer Prokop of Germany were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
