Miss World Guyana 2022 is Andrea King
Andrea King, representing Demerara-Mahaica, was crowned Miss World Guyana 2022 on Sunday, August 21 at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown.
The 25-year-old project manager holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and is currently employed at Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT).
Miss Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Arian Richmond, and Miss Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice, Trevlind Harry, were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
Miss World Guyana 2019 Joylyn Conway, who placed in the Top 40 at the 70th Miss World, reliquished her reign at the end of the event.
No competition was held in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 10 finalists took part in this year's grand coronation night.
The new Miss World Guyana is a lover of fashion, photography, and dance which led her to be featured in numerous photoshoots, runway activities, and dance productions. She is also an avid public speaker and possesses an excellent track record of volunteerism since she would have spent many of her summer holidays volunteering at a local literacy institute teaching reading and phonics to young children.
Andrea will represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
