Miss Indonesia 2022: 37 finalists compete for the title on September 15


A total of 37 finalists representing the provinces of Indonesia will compete for Miss Indonesia 2022 next Thursday, September 15 in Jakarta.

Due to the expansion of Papua Province, three new provinces are being represented this year - the Papua Selatan (South Papua), Papua Tengah (Central Papua), and Papua Pegunungan (Highland Papua).

An official press conference took place on Friday, September 9 at MNC Studios to formally introduce the finalists to the media.

This year's pageant will be the 17th edition of Miss Indonesia. No competition was held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


Pricilia Carla Yules, who won the title in 2020, placed in the Top 6 and bagged the Miss World Asia title at the 70th Miss World final last March in Puerto Rico. She will crown her successor at the culmination of this year's national event.

Miss Indonesia 2022 will air live on Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI) from Studio RCTI+ at 5:30 p.m. local time.

Jutta Pokuah Addo, representing the Central Region, was crowned Miss Ghana 2025 (Miss World Ghana) on Saturday, March 29 at the Avenue Event Center in Accra. The 20-year-old law student bested 12 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent Ghana at the Miss World 2025 competition in Telangana, India this May. Issha Rose Mata, representing the town of Hilo, bested 16 other contestants to win Miss Hawaii USA 2025 on Saturday, March 22 at Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. The 29-year-old model and digital marketing specialist was crowned by last year's winner and Miss USA 2024 Top 10 finalist Breea Yamat. The Miss World organization has officially announced the final date and host country of the 72nd Miss World competition. According to MWO, this year's competition will last 28 days, from May 4 to May 31 in India. It will be held at various destinations in Telangana, a state with a rich legacy and modern vibe. Jasmine Omay has been appointed as Universal Woman Philippines 2025 and was officially crowned in a special ceremony held on Tuesday, March 25 in Quezon City.
