Priyanka Chopra and Harnaaz Sandhu met at Global Citizen Festival in NYC
Two trailblazing and highly accomplished Indian women met each other on Saturday, September 24 during the Global Citizen Festival in New York City's Central Park.
The Global Citizen, a non-profit organization dedicated to driving change and making an impact, celebrated its 10th year anniversary with former Miss World Priyanka Chopra as host.
Nick Jonas' wife also just recently attended as a speaker at the United Nations General Assembly, also in NYC, where she talked mainly about its top agenda this year which is the Sustainable Development Goals.
Prior to last night's show, Priyanka shared the behind-the-scenes with the caption: "Global Citizen Festival and the incredible team behind the mission statement take the saying “it takes a village” to another level. Today you will witness everyone’s hard work and united movement to end extreme Global Poverty."
Reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu also attended the meaningful event as one of the speakers where she talked about her advocacy and promote a new collective, the Global Menstrual Equity Accelerator that campaigns "Period For Change" aiming to eradicate period poverty.
She also went to social media and tagged her biggest inspiration in a photo and wrote, "I couldn’t have asked for us to meet in any other way" to which the latter replied with two emojis (heart-eyes and a red heart).
Bursting with pride, the Miss India organization shared the same photo and said, "We couldn’t be more proud of the heights these two women have accomplished and we know, they’ll continue to do so in the future."
