Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 is Cheam Wei Yeng


Cheam Wei Yeng (Lesley) was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 on Friday, October 7 at the M Resort & Hotel in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.

The 26-year-old pharmaceutical and health science graduate is an assistant manager and a multilingual host and talent from Selangor. She succeeds Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Francisca Luhong James.

Ajunee Simreet Kaur Khangura and Tee Wan Ying were named the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 8 finalists were Annatasha Shanty Jeremiah (Asha), Joann Tiong Hau Ping (Joann), Catherine Lai Hui Yi (Kate), Kaverrna Nair Sukumaran (Kaverrna), and Wong Siu Jane (Siu Jane).

In addition to the national title, the new Miss Universe Malaysia also bagged the Miss Radiant Confidence and Miss Schwarzkopf Most Beautiful Hair awards.

Lesley, who wants to use her pageant platform to raise awareness on mental health issues, will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant this January in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

72nd Miss World final date and host country announced

The Miss World organization has officially announced the final date and host country of the 72nd Miss World competition. Miss Universe Brazil 2025 is Maria Gabriela Lacerda

Maria Gabriela Lacerda, representing the state of Piauí, was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2025 on Thursday, February 13 in Alphaville, São Paulo. The 22-year-old journalist bested 23 other contestants to win the beauty title. She received her crown from Brazil's first Miss Universe winner, Miss Universe 1963 Ieda Maria Vargas. Aline Fritsch of Rio Grande do Sul and Ana Carolina Ceolin Comério of Espírito Santo were the first and second runners-up, respectively. "This crown is ours, my Piauí. Thailand has been officially announced as the host country for the Miss Universe 2025 competition. The Miss Universe Organization unveiled the ultimate destination for the 74th Miss Universe pageant at a press conference in New York City. Before the exciting announcement, several countries were mentioned as possible hosts including Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Spain, South Africa, Nigeria, and the Philippines. Dia Maté of the Philippines was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 on Sunday, February 9 at the Salón Sirionó, Fexpocruz in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Cavite became the second Filipina to win the international pageant next to Teresita Ssen Marquez who won in 2017. Jázmin Viktória Elizabeth was crowned Miss Universe Hungary 2021 in a special event held at Gigi's Budapest on Saturday, November 6. The 20-year-old model and student from Budapest bested 13 other beauties to win her national title. She will now prepare to represent Hungary at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December. Edina Maronka and Nina Tobias were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
