It's departure time for the Miss Earth 2022 contestants as they head to Manila, Philippines to compete in the biggest international pageant dedicated to the protection and preservation of our planet Earth.
Around 90 eco-warriors from all corners of the world are expected to arrive in the host country this weekend and kick off their official in-person events and activities. Check out their updated profiles and bios on the Miss Earth official website.
The reigning Miss Earth from Belize, Destiny Wagner, has for the first time since winning last year's virtual edition arrived at the Miss Earth headquarters on November 8. Unfortunately, she faced a bit of a health issue while in transit and needed to rest in order to bounce back better.
Several beauties went ahead of time to train with the Filipino pageant camp Kagandahang Flores. Joining the host delegate Jenny Ramp for training were early birds from India, Vanshika Parmar, from Nigeria, Esther Oluwatosin Ajayi, from the Netherlands, Merel Hendriksen, and from Puerto Rico, Paulina Avilés.
This year's competition marks the highly anticipated return of the pageant after two virtual editions and the Miss Earth organization managed to achieve the highest number of contestants in its 22-year history. New countries joining include Burundi, Cape Verde, Senegal and Somalia, and around 25 returnees.
Prior to the anticipated arrivals, several preliminary competitions were already held virtually including the fauna outfit competition, intelligence preliminary judging, national costume competition, and fitness and form preliminary judging.
Fan votes help the contestants' scores for best in fauna outfits and national costumes so continue voting for your favorites across the Miss Earth social media platforms. Also, check out and show support for their eco videos that are now available on Miss Earth's official YouTube, and be reminded the winners of the best eco videos will automatically advance to the final Top 20 on November 29 at Okada Manila.
