Miss America 2023: Meet the preliminary nights' special awardees

Fifty-one of the country's most intelligent, confident, talented, and community-minded young women are currently vying for the Miss America 2023 title in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Prior to the final night competition that will be held this Thursday, December 15 at the Mohegan Sun, two preliminary nights were held and four contestants bagged special awards.


The first preliminary night was held on Monday, December 12. Miss Indiana, Elizabeth Hallal, earned the Talent award, and Miss Georgia, Kelsey Hollis, earned the Social Impact Pitch award.


On the second preliminary night which was held on Tuesday, December 13, Miss Wisconsin, Grace Stanke, earned the Talent award, and Miss Iowa, Bailey Hodson, earned the Social Impact Pitch award.

The Talent awardees each received a $2500 worth of scholarship provided by Kawai Pianos while the Social Impact Pitch awardees each received a £1500 worth of scholarship provided by Regalia Magnificent Apparel.

Miss Botswana 2025 is Ruth Thomas from Masunga

Ruth Thomas was crowned Miss Botswana 2025 (Miss World Bostwana) on Saturday, March 22 at The Grand Palm Hotel Casino Convention Resort in Gaborone. The 24-year-old clothing and textile design graduate from the village of Masunga bested nine other finalists to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner Anicia Gaothusi from Tutume and is expected to represent Botswana at the 73rd Miss World competition. Her predecessor who was crowned a year ago will head to the upcoming 72nd Miss World in Hyderabad, India this May. The new Miss World Botswana works as a beauty advisor and is also a model and poet. Miss World Singapore 2025 is Katerina Delvina

Katerina Delvina, 28, bested nine other finalists to be crowned Miss World Singapore 2025 in a recently held national competition in Singapore. The biomedical research student, model, and passionate advocate for charity work will represent Singapore in the upcoming Miss World 2025 competition in Hyderabad, India. Arantxa, Tanisha Tan, Anurathi and Dhivvya were named the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss World Singapore was crowned by her predecessor Oh Wei Qi. With a heart dedicated to giving back, Katerina hopes her pageant journey will open new doors for her to contribute even more to society. Bellezas Globales de Nicaragua 2025, four new queens crowned

Four new queens have been crowned at the culmination of the Bellezas Globales de Nicaragua 2025 pageant held on Sunday, March 23 at the Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Managua. A total of 24 beauties battled it out to win the opportunity to represent Nicaragua in the next Miss World, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Cosmo competitions. Karen Jansen to represent Belgium at the 72nd Miss World

Reigning Miss Belgium Karen Jansen, 23, has been officially announced as Belgium's representative in the upcoming Miss World 2025 competition. The psychology student and freelance model from the province of Limburg was recently crowned Miss Belgium 2025 last month in De Panne. Karen will compete with over 100 contestants from around the world to become the next Miss World this May in Hyderabad, India. Belgium has yet to win the Miss World crown since its first participation in 1969. The country's highest placement was in 1996 when Belgian model Laurence Borremans made the Top 10. Miss Scotland 2022 is Lucy Sophia Thomson

Lucy Sophia Thomson bested 10 other finalists to be crowned Miss Scotland 2022 on Friday, July 29 at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. The 23-year-old beauty representing Fife from Dunfermline succeeds last year's winner Claudia Todd and will represent Scotland at the 71st Miss World pageant. Olivia McPike from Kirkintilloch and Ailsa Black from Edinburgh were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Jasmine Omay has been appointed as Universal Woman Philippines 2025 and was officially crowned in a special ceremony held on Tuesday, March 25 in Quezon City. The 27-year-old events host, model and pilot from Tarlac will represent the Philippines at the Universal Woman 2025 pageant in Jaipur, India this June. 72nd Miss World final date and host country announced

The Miss World organization has officially announced the final date and host country of the 72nd Miss World competition. According to MWO, this year's competition will last 28 days, from May 4 to May 31 in India. It will be held at various destinations in Telangana, a state with a rich legacy and modern vibe. The opening and closing ceremonies, including the final show, will take place in the state's capital city of Hyderabad.
