Miss District of Columbia USA 2023 is Cassie Baloue
Miss Freedom, Cassie Baloue bested 28 other contestants to win the title of Miss District of Colombia USA 2023 in the state competition held on Saturday, April 15 at the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.
The 25-year-old native of Walnut Creek, California holds a degree in political science from the University of California, Merced. She advocates against blood cancers and currently working as a digital press secretary at the U.S. House of Representatives.
Crowned by last year's winner Faith Porter, Cassie will now prepare to represent the District of Columbia at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada later this year.
Her court of runners-up includes Kleo Torres (first), Natalia Salmon (second), Brelynn Hunt (third), and Nicky Kandola (fourth).
The rest of the Top 12 semifinalists were Alaysia Bookal, Kailyn McBride, Maura Deegan, Ebody Acton, Keandra Forte, Billie Gardner, and Ambreia Williams.
Saturday's event also crowned Miss District of Columbia Teen USA 2023 Asia Chisley. The runners-up were Nicole Sandrik-Arzadi and Jade Ridout.
Asia succeeded last year's titleholder Asia Hickman and will now proceed to Miss Teen USA 2023 pageant, also in Reno, Nevada, on a date yet to be announced.
"I'm so excited to be a part of the sisterhood and honored to represent the community I love so much," the new Miss District of Columbia USA shared on social media.
"Thank you again to my family, friends, and supporters for all the love and support you've shown me throughout this journey. This is just the beginning — next stop USA," she added.
