Miss Philippines Earth 2023 is Yllana Marie Aduana of Siniloan, Laguna
Yllana Marie Aduana bested 28 other competitors to win the Miss Philippines Earth 2023 grand final competition held on Saturday, April 29 at Toledo City Sports Center in Toledo, Cebu.
The 24-year-old licensed medical laboratory scientist representing Siniloan, Laguna succeeded last year's winner Jenny Ramp and will now prepare to represent the Philippines at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam on a date yet to be announced.
Rounding out the Top 5 were Athena Auxillo of Toledo City, Sha'uri Livori of Fil-Com Melbourne, Australia, Jemimah Joy Zabala of Puerto Princesa City, and Kerri Reilly of Mangatarem, Pangasinan. They were awarded Miss Philippines Air, Water, Fire, and Ecotourism titles, respectively.
The rest of the Top 10 who were all sashed as runners-up include the representatives of Fil-Com Milan, Italy, Queenie Salac, Dipolog City, KC Falcasantos, Iloilo City, Ma. Cristina Tallador, Taguig City, Cea de Jesus, and San Jose, Nueva Ecija, Princes Lazaga.
Meri Lasil Relevo of Balayan, Batangas, Chrystel Mae Correos of Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, Jeicka Dimatatac of San Pascual, Batangas, Jamie Angelique Armanda of Tuburan, Cebu, and Fermizulli Silal of Zamboanga City completed the Top 15 semifinalists.
The new Miss Philippines Earth is also a commercial model and TV actress whose advocacy "E.A.R.T.H. Education" stands for "Environmental Awareness & Action to Restore and Transcend Home" and focuses on education to help the environment.
Yllana runs her non-profit organization called Edukasyon for Every Juan to help in the fight against climate change by educating people on climate reality.
No stranger to pageantry, she first joined Miss Philippines Earth, her first national pageant, in 2021 where she was part of the Top 10, and then Binibining Pilipinas 2022 where she made it to the Top 12.
In addition to winning the crown and title, she also bagged the Miss HANA award from the pageant's major sponsor Hana Shampoo. Prior to the final, she took home the gold medals for Best in Swimsuit and Darling of the Press.
Former Miss Earth winners Karla Henry and Jamie Herell joined actor and TV host Robi Domingo as hosts of the event while Nellys Pimentel was part of the panel of judges.
This year's competition themed "ME Loves 20TREE" marked the 23rd edition of the annual Miss Philippines Earth pageant.
