Miss Pakistan World 2023 is Misbah Arshad
Misbah Arshad was proclaimed Miss Pakistan World 2023 in a crowning ceremony held on Wednesday, May 31 at the Grand Palm Hotel in Lahore.
The 25-year-old Pakistani beauty lives in Munich, Germany with her family and is pursuing her bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Hagen. She succeeds last year's titleholder Anniqa Jamal Iqbal and will represent Pakistan at Miss International 2023 in Japan this October.
Alongside the new Miss Pakistan World, the rest of the winners this year were also awarded titles in different categories — Miss for under 29 years of age, Ms. for over 30, and Mrs. for married women.
They are Ms. Pakistan World 2023 Shafina Shah, Mrs. Pakistan World 2023 Fatima Fakhar, Miss Trans Pakistan 2023 Alina Khan, Miss Pakistan Universal 2023 Kapothaqkhy Chanchala, Miss Pakistan Global 2023 Warda Muneeb Rao, Ms. Pakistan Universe 2023 Beenish George, and Miss Pakistan Supreme 2023 Sabeen Baledina.
Participated by beauties from overseas and various cities of Pakistan, the event was hosted by Mr. Pakistan Universal 2022 Alamdar Khan with content creator Sumhaiira Saghir.
"People always mistake pageantry to be a part of the modeling industry, and that is not true. We don't have designers working for us or clothes that we have to get models for. We are like the Olympics but in a subtle way where the representation of one's country is a must," said Sonia Ahmed, the President of the Miss Pakistan organization.
"Miss Pakistan is an honor received, an accolade for any woman at any age, as well as it's a title that opens the doors for many women to travel and know other like-minded women from all around the world. Our mission is to talk about Pakistan and let people know of the existence of our Pakistani culture," she continued.
"It's a sisterhood that we enjoy and strive to achieve, and the best thing is that we are in Pakistan, the hub of the most beautiful women in the world, where women from all walks of lives can unite for one purpose, and that is to keep the spirit of Pakistan alive through their valuable representation," she added.
This year's pageant, now in its 21st year, was the fourth coronation ceremony held on the soil of Pakistan. Apart from Miss International, the winners will also have a chance to represent the country at various pageants overseas such as Miss Earth, Miss Global, Miss Eco International, Miss Aura International, Miss Planet International, Miss Elite, and Miss Freedom of the World.
