Miss Universe Canada 2023 is Madison Kvaltin
Former Miss International Canada, Madison Kvaltin, was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2023 in a national competition held on Saturday, August 19 at The Show Theatre at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.
The 25-year-old Northern Ontario-born entrepreneur with a degree in sociology and business from Queen's University will now prepare to represent Canada at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November.
Jessica Bailey was named first runner-up while Melanie Renaud, Kim Hoang Do, and Dominique Doucette were announced as the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Canada already joined last year and placed first runner-up. She went on to compete in Miss International 2022 in Japan where she achieved an impressive Top 8 finish.
Madison owns and operates a marketing and web design company and also founded Skilla Athletics, a brand that promotes healthy body confidence and the celebration of bodies through movement.
Her initiated community "The Body Love Club" is dedicated to inspiring all bodies to be loved and respected through social platforms, workshops, and several mental and physical activities to empower others through movement.
Last night's competition, the 72nd edition of the annual Miss Universe Canada, was attended by former Miss Universe from Canada, Natalie Glebova.
Amelia Tu, last year's winner and Miss Universe 2022 Top 16 semifinalist, relinquished her crown at the end of the glittering event.
Former Miss Universe Canada Nova Stevens was also present to hand over the sash to the new queen while the winner from 2011, Chelsae Durocher, was among the distinguished panel of judges.
