Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 is Karla Inelisse Guilfú Acevedo


Karla Inelisse Guilfú Acevedo was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 in a glittering competition held on Thursday, August 24 at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan.

The 24-year-old psychology graduate hailing from Esmeralda del Sur, Patillas bested 29 other competitors to win the national title. She also bagged the Mujer de Valor award from L'Oréal Paris.

Xarimar Acevedo Pabón of Río Grande was named first runner-up while Kiara Rivera Escudero of Toa Baja, Fiorella Medina Pérez of Isabela, and Isarel Marielis Román Almeda of San Lorenzo were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Last year's winner, Ashley Cariño, a Top 5 finalist at Miss Universe 2022, handed over the new crown "Evolución" to her successor at the end of the event.

No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Puerto Rico previously won the title Miss Supranational Puerto Rico at Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico 2020 and went on to compete in Miss Supranational 2021 where she placed first runner-up.

The social justice and mental health advocate will now prepare to represent Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador this November.

Agathe Cauet to represent France at the 72nd Miss World

Former Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Miss France 2023 first runner-up Agathe Cauet was announced on Monday, March 10 as Miss World France 2025. The 26-year-old former nurse was first runner-up to Miss France 2023 Indira Ampiot of Guadeloupe at the national pageant in Châteauroux. Agathe will now prepare to represent France at the 72nd Miss World this May in India. She succeeds Clémence Botino who went to the 71st Miss World, also in India, and placed in the Top 40 among 112 contestants. Miss Global 2025 is Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van of Vietnam

Nguyen Dinh Nhu Van from Vietnam was crowned Miss Global 2025 on Sunday, March 9 at the MCC Hall, The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi, Thailand. The 33-year-old model hailing from Lam Dong province bested over 60 other contestants to become the first Vietnamese representative to win the international beauty title. Keri-Ann Greenwood of Jamaica was named first runner-up while Ediris Rivera of Puerto Rico, Lindsay Lauren Becker of the USA, and Xena Ramos of the Philippines were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. SPOTLIGHT: Meet Hanna Kim, Miss Universe Korea 2022

Korea will be represented at the 71st Miss Universe pageant by Hanna Kim. The 27-year-old model currently based in New York City was appointed as Miss Universe Korea 2022 last April. She was the first runner-up during last year's national competition. Apart from modeling, Hanna is a linguist and interpreter, who specialized in clinical trials. She is also a skilled classical ballet dancer. "Words cannot describe how honored I am to be representing Korea at the 71st edition of Miss Universe," she shared on social media. Filipino-Indian Rheema Adakkoden bested 19 other beauties to be crowned Miss Bicolandia 2022 on Wednesday, September 7 at the Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum in Naga City, Camarines Sur. The 21-year-old beauty pursuing a degree in business administration and management won her title in her second attempt. After two weeks of pre-pageant activities, challenges, and preliminary evaluations, Miss Supranational 2023 is culminating tonight at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Małopolska, Poland. South Africa's first-ever Miss Supranational, Lalela Mswane, will pass the crown to her successor at the end of the event.
