Miss Universe Guyana 2023: Meet the Top 8 finalists

Eight finalists have been officially announced to compete for the title of Miss Universe Guyana 2023.

An official sashing ceremony will take place this Friday, September 1 while the national final and coronation will be on Saturday, September 2 at Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown.

This year's competition will be the first edition under the US-based and award-winning pageant director Teri Brown-Walker. The will winner will represent Guyana at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November.

The People’s Choice fan voting is open until Friday at 9 p.m. The finalist with the highest number of votes will earn a spot in the Top 5. To vote, head over to the Pageant Planet website.

Plus-sized beauty Sara Milliken was crowned the National American Miss Alabama 2024 during the state final held on May 27 at the Renaissance Marriot in Montgomery. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Atmore, Alabama is now expected to represent her home state at the National American Miss 2024 competition later this year. "This is a dream that has been 8 years in the making for me," said the new National American Miss Alabama who first joined the state pageant when she was 15 years old. Nigeria's Samuel Nwajagu wins Mister International 2024

Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Aside from the international title, the 23-year-old model also bagged the Best in Swimsuit award. He succeeds last year's winner from Thailand, Kim Goodburn. Nguyen Man Lan of Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively. Anthony Henricus of the Netherlands, Justine Carl Ong of the Philippines (fan vote winner), and Rafael Dominguez of Spain rounded out the Top 6 finalists. Angélique Angarni-Filopon from Martinique beat 29 other contestants to win Miss France 2025 on Saturday, December 14 at the Futuroscope Arena in Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The 34-year-old flight attendant became the oldest winner of the prestigious national pageant. She also made history as the first woman from Martinique to become Miss France. Tonight, the much-awaited culmination of the Miss Universe 2024 pageant will broadcast live from the Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
