Miss Thailand World 2023 is Tharina Botes


Tharina Botes was crowned Miss Thailand World 2023 in a glittering competition held on Sunday, October 1 at the Palladium Hall of The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam in Bangkok.

The 26-year-old Thai-South African model from Phuket will now prepare to represent Thailand at Miss World 2023 in India this December.

Warangkhana Sirisathaphornsap and Ploiwarin Saenchai were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Chotnapa Kaewjarun and Chaba Jumsai Na Ayudhya rounded out the Top 5 finalists.

Phitchawan Promthan, Melanie Flay, Supassara Supanya, Krongthong Chantarasompoch, and Prima Boonyavej were the rest of the Top 10 semifinalists.

The new Miss Thailand World holds a degree in commerce and economics from the University of South Africa. No stranger to pageantry, she represented South Africa at Miss International 2016, placed in the Top 12 at Miss South Africa 2018, Top 10 at Miss Grand Thailand 2019, and first runner-up at Miss Universe Thailand 2021.

Tharina started her own project "Good Guardians, The Uplifting Project" which aims to help people in need by feeding families and providing school scholarships for children.

"I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a good life, and I’m committed to making a difference in the world. I hope you’ll join me on this journey. Together, we can make a big difference," she said.

In addition to her initiative, she is also an ambassador for the food rescue foundation Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) which rescues and redistributes nutritious surplus food to vulnerable communities.

Rashmita Rasindran of Malaysia was crowned Miss Charm 2024 on Saturday, December 21 at the Nguyen Du Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 24-year-old model and social activist from Kuala Lumpur bested over 30 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeds last year's winner Luma Russo of Brazil. Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Miss Universe Ukraine 2022 Viktoria Apanasenko finally revealed her symbolic national costume for the 71st Miss Universe pageant. The "Warrior of Light" costume symbolizes her nation's fight against the darkness, like an archangel Michael with a sword protecting Ukraine. It was completed in four months of extreme conditions, to the sound of sirens, without electricity, and by candlelight.
