Former Miss Earth Colombia Alejandra Villafañe passes away at the age of 34


Colombian actress and former Miss Earth Colombia Alejandra Villafañe died in Bogotá on October 21 after months of battling cancer.

Alejandra was 34 years old and was engaged to actor Raul Ocampo at the time of her death. Messages of sympathy poured in online from her family, friends, and fellow celebrities.

Prior to becoming an actress, she was crowned Miss Earth Colombia 2014 and went on to participate in the 14th Miss Earth pageant in the Philippines where she placed in the Top 16.

After pageantry, she appeared in numerous telenovelas, television series, and films. Her last project was the film "El Yuppie y El Guiso" by the renowned Colombian film producer and screenwriter Dago García.

In a statement on social media, the Miss Earth Colombia organization shared: "The light that Alejandra radiated, both in her work and everyday life, will never stop inspiring us. Her smile, her passion for a greener world, and her presence in the entertainment industry leave an indelible mark."

"In this time of mourning, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace, dear Alejandra. Your legacy will live on and we will continue to fight for the cause you loved so much."
