Miss Earth Cuba 2023 is Aleida Josefa Perez
Aleida Josefa Perez was crowned Miss Earth Cuba 2023 in a special ceremony held last August 26 at the Caro Wellness Center in Miami Florida.
The 22-year-old was appointed by Nuestra Belleza Nacional Cuba (NBNC) and will represent her Cuban roots at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam later this year. She succeeds last year's titleholder Sheyla Ravelo who placed in the Top 12 at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines.
A graduate of the University of Florida with a double major in political science and international studies, Aleida is currently working as a certified paralegal specializing in business immigration. She is fluent in fluent in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
The new Miss Earth Cuba founded her own nonprofit organization "Hearts in Mind" with the motto "Thinking with love" to press issues of education inequality, particularly in under-resourced communities. Her advocacy ensures every child can receive a quality education, regardless of their background.
Aside from her social initiative, she has worked with other charities such as in collaboration with the City of Miami Dade, organizing bi-monthly food drives for the unhoused population, and extending support to those in need.
She has also formed partnerships with organizations such as Lotus House, Kristi's House, and the O'Farrill Center, equipping parents with the tools necessary and empowering mothers, to foster a sense of self-belief that positively influences their children's education.
The 23rd Miss Earth final will take place on December 22 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Mina Sue Choi of Korea will crown her successor at the end of the event.
