Reina Hispanoamericana 2023 is Maricielo Gamarra, back-to-back win for Peru

Peru's Maricielo Gamarra bested 26 other competitors to be crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2023 on Sunday, January 28 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.

The 29-year-old communications graduate succeeds last year's winner, also from Peru, Arlette Rujel. She is the second Peruvian woman to win the international title.

Fernanda Rojas of Venezuela was named Virreina Hispanoamericana 2023 while Cynthia Moura of Brazil, Michelle Arceo of the Philippines, Bianty Gomperts of Curaçao, and Paula Andrea Alarcón of Colombia were the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Completing the Top 13 were Darla Reyes of Bolivia, Melissa Domínguez of the Dominican Republic, Juliana Robles of Ecuador, Chesy Anribka Mose of Indonesia, Vanessa Ortiz of Italy, Carolina Pérez of Mexico, and Sarahí Figueroa of Puerto Rico.

No stranger to pageantry, the new Reina Hispanoamericana was first runner-up at Miss Peru 2020 and went on to compete in Miss Grand International 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand where she placed in the Top 20.

This year's competition marks the 32nd edition of the international pageant dedicated to celebrating Hispanic heritage, language, and culture.

Reigning Miss Grand International Luciana Fuster from Peru graced the event as one of the judges.
