After Miss USA, UmaSofia Srivastava also resigns as Miss Teen USA 2023


After the shocking resignation of Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt, Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava has also announced her decision to relinquish her title.

In a statement on social media, she wrote: "After careful consideration, I've decided to resign as I find that my personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization."

UmaSofia was crowned the 41st Miss Teen USA last September in Reno, Nevada. The first-generation Mexican-Indian American teen represented her home state of New Jersey at the national pageant.

While she never expected her reign to end like this, she is looking forward to a meaningful life after Miss Teen USA.

"I am excited to continue my advocacy for education and acceptance, start applying to colleges, and share some exciting new projects on That's Fan Behavior with those of you who plan to stick around," she said.

"At the end of the day, I am so lucky to have had the privilege of this experience, but if this is just a chapter, I know that the story of my life will truly be incredible."

The Miss USA/Miss Teen USA organization also posted a statement on social media: "We respect and support UmaSofia's decision to step down from her duties. The well-being of our titleholders is a top priority."

As for her replacement as titleholder, the organization also wrote: "We are currently reviewing plans for the transition of responsibilities to a successor, and we will soon announce the crowning of the new Miss Teen USA."

Miss Universe Brazil 2025 is Maria Gabriela Lacerda

Maria Gabriela Lacerda, representing the state of Piauí, was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2025 on Thursday, February 13 in Alphaville, São Paulo. The 22-year-old journalist bested 23 other contestants to win the beauty title. She received her crown from Brazil's first Miss Universe winner, Miss Universe 1963 Ieda Maria Vargas. Thailand has been officially announced as the host country for the Miss Universe 2025 competition. The Miss Universe Organization unveiled the ultimate destination for the 74th Miss Universe pageant at a press conference in New York City. Jázmin Viktória Elizabeth was crowned Miss Universe Hungary 2021 in a special event held at Gigi's Budapest on Saturday, November 6.
