Miss International Sri Lanka 2024 is Maya Dmitri
Maya Dmitri was crowned Miss International Sri Lanka 2024 in a special ceremony held on Sunday, May 5 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Colombo.
The 20-year-old model and software engineering student will now prepare to represent her country at Miss International 2024 in Tokyo, Japan this November.
"With overwhelming gratitude, I embrace the privilege of being crowned Miss International Sri Lanka, a moment that symbolizes the culmination of countless dreams and aspirations," she wrote on social media.
"To my family, friends and sponsors, your unwavering support has been the bedrock upon which I stand today, and for that, I am eternally grateful," she added.
The new Miss International Sri Lanka also shared what the title means to her. She said, "This title is not merely a crown but a responsibility, one that I pledge to fulfill with integrity, compassion, and a fervent desire to effect positive change."
"With this platform, I am committed to advocating for causes that resonate deeply with me. Together, let us embark on a journey of purpose, where every step we take leaves an indelible mark of hope and inspiration."
Maya also revealed the inspiration behind her national crown, a beautiful masterpiece crafted by Sri Lankan jeweler Tiesh.
"The intricate design inspired by the peacock and the incorporation of Sri Lanka's essence truly make it a masterpiece. It's evident that Tiesh has put great care and attention into every detail, creating a stunning piece that I'll cherish forever."
