Julia Aguilar appointed as the new Miss World Nicaragua 2024
Julia Aguilar was crowned the new Miss World Nicaragua 2024 in a special coronation ceremony held on Friday, May 31 in Managua.
The 20-year-old from the Nicaraguan department of Granada has been appointed to replace the original winner Ismeli Jarquín, who resigned for personal reasons.
She was the first runner-up during the national competition held at the Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in March. She was also awarded Miss Revlon and Best Beauty with a Purpose.
"Today I start a new phase with lots of happiness and immense love. I learned that God allows many things in my life, both blessings and painful processes and so far, I can give thanks for all that I've been through because they have made me a stronger person, more resilient, and able to achieve all that I once thought was impossible," she posted online.
"Seeing one of my biggest dreams come true warms my heart and fills me with the courage to continue working for positive changes in my society through social causes I am passionate about," she added and went on to thank the Miss Mundo Nicaragua organization.
For her country, she said: "Thank you for letting me carry your name on my chest. It is a pride for me to represent to the world the beauty, values, and culture of the Nicaraguan woman, above all to demonstrate that our land is made of vigor and glory."
The new Miss World Nicaragua will now prepare to represent the land of lakes and volcanoes at the 72nd Miss World, whose date and venue have yet to be announced.
