Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 applications now open, meet new national director

The Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) has announced new entry requirements for Miss Universe Malaysia to make the platform more inclusive and empowering for women.

Eleen Yong, MUMO's new national director, announced the changes at a press conference at MYEG Tower on Thursday, launching the official call for entry for Miss Universe Malaysia 2024.

The upper age limit has been abolished, and women who are married, divorced, and mothers are now accepted into the competition. These changes are a significant departure from past rules, which only allowed single, unmarried women aged 28 or under to participate.

MUMO is proud to be part of this transformative change, listening to Malaysians and taking decisive steps to be more inclusive.

Reflecting on her new role, Eleen Yong expressed her enthusiasm for introducing innovative ideas that will take this prestigious event to the next level.

"Our vision is to empower and celebrate the incredible women of Malaysia, showcasing their talents, intelligence, and beauty on a global stage. We believe in the power of this platform to transform lives and inspire future generations," she said.

Representing Malaysia at Miss Universe offers contestants the chance for personal growth and professional opportunities while promoting Malaysian culture globally.

Past winners have secured modeling contracts, worked with international brands, and supported social causes. They also gained experience in public speaking, media relations, and personal branding, opening doors to careers in entertainment, fashion, and philanthropy.

With the official announcement of the call for entry for Miss Universe Malaysia, all eligible women aged 18 and above are encouraged to seize this opportunity to showcase their talents, intelligence, and commitment to making a positive impact.

As Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 unfolds, the event promises to be a beacon of inspiration and empowerment for Malaysian women. Under the dynamic leadership of Eleen Yong, the competition is on its way to breaking new ground. The journey to the crown begins now as MUMO invites all eligible women to step forward and embrace this life-changing opportunity.
