81-year-old model Choi Soon-hwa joins Miss Universe Korea 2024


Choi Soon-hwa recently created a buzz in the pageant community when she appeared as the oldest contestant vying for Miss Universe Korea 2024.

The 81-year-old senior model who walked her first runway in her 70s made history as she competes alongside more than 30 others in the upcoming national competition.

If she wins this year's Miss Universe Korea, she will be the oldest Korean representative and contestant in the 73-year history of the Miss Universe pageant.

The Miss Universe Korea 2024 final will be held on September 30 and the winner will head to Mexico for Miss Universe 2024 this November.

Age restrictions were recently removed by the organizers to align with the new rules of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) that any woman, regardless of marital status, from age 18 can compete.

Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir to represent Iceland at Miss Earth 2025

Former Miss Universe Iceland Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir was officially proclaimed Miss Earth Iceland 2025 during the recently held Ungfrú Ísland 2025 (Miss Iceland) pageant in Reykjavík. The 19-year-old beauty received the crown from her predecessor Hrafnhildur Haraldsdóttir who made the Top 4 at the Miss Earth 2024 pageant in the Philippines. She was previously crowned Ungfrú Ísland 2024 (Miss Iceland/Miss Universe Iceland 2024) and went to Miss Universe 2024 last November in Mexico. The new Miss Earth Iceland, who practiced gymnastics for 10 years before moving on to soccer, will now prepare to represent her country at Miss Earth 2025. Miss Universe Iceland 2025 is Helena Hafþórsdóttir O'Connor

Helena Hafþórsdóttir O'Connor was crowned Ungfrú Ísland 2025 (Miss Universe Iceland) on Thursday, April 3 at Gamla Bíó in Reykjavik. The 20-year-old beauty from Viðey bested 19 other contestants to win the national title. Guðrún Eva Hauksdóttir, Kamilla Guðrún Lowen, Kristín Anna Jónasdóttir, and Dimmey Rós were the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Emely Encarnacion, representing the Dominican Republic, won the Supermodel International 2025 competition held on Sunday, April 6 in Bangkok, Thailand. The 22-year-old old model from Santo Domingo was crowned by her predecessor from Vietnam, Supermodel International 2022 Quynh Hoa Bui. Shindell Atibula of the Philippines was named first runner-up while Anna Chuntu of Russia, Emily Heikkilä of Finland, and Danna Marie Calderon of Canada were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Reigning Miss Denmark Emma Heyst has been officially announced by the Miss Denmark Organization as Miss World Denmark 2025. The 22-year-old was crowned Miss Denmark 2024 in September last year in Copenhagen. She will now prepare to represent Denmark at Miss World 2025 in India this coming May. According to the national pageant organization, Emma is future sociology student, philanthropist, model and sports enthusiast who has been involved in humanitarian work for years. Xinying Zhu from Anhui crowned Miss Universe China

China officially crowned two national queens for Miss Universe in one year. Two separate national events were held this year. Xinying Zhu from Anhui province was recently crowned Miss Universe China following an intense one-week competition in Zhangjiajie. The 18-year-old vocational student majoring to become a flight attendant at Suzhou Aviation Vocational College is expected to represent China at Miss Universe 2026. She was crowned by her predecessor, Xue Hou, who won the national title in Sanya last July. Xue will head to the Miss Universe 2025 pageant.
