Miss Universe Romania 2024 is Loredana Salanță


Loredana Salanță was crowned Miss Universe Romania 2024 during the national competition held on Wednesday, September 25 at the Kong restaurant in Bucharest.

The 33-year-old film and fashion editor from Bistriţa beat 24 other beauties to win the opportunity to represent Romania at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November.

Andreea Ioana Stan was named first runner-up while Raisa Mitruti, Alexandra Elena Miu, and Antonia Iftime were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

This year's event marked the return of Romania to the Miss Universe pageant. The country's last participation was in 2021 with Carmina Cotfas.

The new Miss Universe Romania has made history as the first mother and married woman to win the national title. She also became the oldest titleholder since age limits were removed by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO).

No stranger to pageantry, Loredana is a former Miss World Romania who participated in Miss World 2009 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was also the winner of Top Model of the World 2011 in Germany.

Amadea Zupan was crowned Miss Slovenia 2024 (Miss World Slovenia) in a national competition held on Friday, January 10 in Lendava. The 26-year-old medical student at the University of Ljubljana beat 12 other contestants to win the title. She received the crown from her predecessor Alida Tomanič. Katja Zver was named first runner-up while Neja Prosenjak finished as second runner-up and also bagged the Miss Personality award. The 34-year-old flight attendant became the oldest winner of the prestigious national pageant. She also made history as the first woman from Martinique to become Miss France. Abbie Stockard from Vestavia Hills, Alabama was crowned Miss America 2025 on Sunday, January 5 at The Walt Disney Theater of the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida. The 22-year-old nursing student and cheerleader at Auburn University beat 51 other contestants to win the national title. Samuel Nwajagu of Nigeria was proclaimed the grand winner of the Mister International 2024 pageant on Saturday, December 14 in Bangkok, Thailand. Xinying Zhu from Anhui crowned Miss Universe China

China officially crowned two national queens for Miss Universe in one year. Two separate national events were held this year. Xinying Zhu from Anhui province was recently crowned Miss Universe China following an intense one-week competition in Zhangjiajie. The 18-year-old vocational student majoring to become a flight attendant at Suzhou Aviation Vocational College is expected to represent China at Miss Universe 2026. She was crowned by her predecessor, Xue Hou, who won the national title in Sanya last July. Xue will head to the Miss Universe 2025 pageant. Miss America 2024 will be the 96th edition of the Miss America pageant — the nation's leading provider of scholarships for young women. The 51 state representatives have already been crowned and they will compete for the national title on January 14 at the Walt Disney Theater (Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts) in Orlando, Florida. Apart from raising the age limits to between 18 and 28, the 2024 competition under the new CEO Robin Ross-Fleming will also see other changes.
