Albina Koroleva edged out over 40 other beauties to win Beauty of Russia 2020 on Wednesday, October 28 in Sochi. The event was held without an audience amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 19-year-old student at Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University is a former member of the Lokomotiv hockey team’s support group, starred in the film “Let’s Get Divorced,” and worked as a weather forecast presenter on local television.
“I still can’t believe that I will represent Russia at the international level. This is a huge honor for me,” she wrote on social media.
The newly-crowned beauty queen who also took home the title Miss Earth Russia is expected to represent her country at the Miss Earth 2021 pageant.
Russia made a debut at the Miss Earth pageant in 2001 and managed to clinch eight placements in the past 20 years.
Anastasia Trusova and Lada Akimova’s runner-up finish in 2014 and 2017 were the country’s highest achievements so far in the international competition.
