A sports enthusiast and gym manager Beatrice Luigi Gomez was crowned Binibining Cebu 2020 on Monday, January 13 at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino’s Pacific Grand Ballroom in Cebu City.
The 24-year-old San Fernando representative is a proud member of the LGBT+ community.
In an interview during the competition, she said: “I guess what makes me beautiful is my bravery and being true to myself. To tell you guys, honestly, I have a girlfriend. I have tattoos, and I am proud of my imperfections. I guess that is what makes me beautiful.”
Aside from Beatrice, other winners in the prestigious local pageant were Binibining Cebu Tourism 2020 Ameena Allababidi (Cordova), Binibining Cebu Charity 2020 Betty Davis (Cebu City North), Binibining Cebu Heritage 2020 Marla Alforque (Carcar City), and Binibining Cebu Ecology 2020 Amanda Basnillo (Dalaguete).
The previous winner, Steffi Aberasturi of Mandaue City crowned her successor at the end of the event.
Former Miss Universe from the Philippines Catriona Gray also graced the glittering competition.
