Catriona Gray delivered a heartfelt speech as she took her final walk onstage as Miss Universe before crowning South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi last Sunday, December 8 in Atlanta, Georgia (USA).
The pride of the Philippines walked in a shimmering blue gown by Filipino designer Mak Tumang, the same designer behind her winning gowns at Miss Universe 2018. Her fabulous gown called “Reflection” was inspired by the Philippine eagle, an endangered species of bird endemic to forests in the Philippines.
In her speech, Catriona said she has always believed that women have the power to redefine our generation. She added, “when we raise our voices together, the words ‘woman power’ become more than just a phrase. They become a movement.”
It was nothing but a year well-spent. Catriona reigned with purpose from advocating quality education for all to raising HIV and AIDS awareness.
As she closed a chapter of her life with a grateful heart, she left an inspiring message to everyone with a dream. “Know that your dreams are valid. And on your path, you are never denied, only redirected,” she said.
