Miss Rajasthan, Suman Rao, was crowned Femina Miss India World 2019 in a national pageant held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, June 15.
The 20-year-old student succeeds last year’s winner Anukreethy Vas and will now prepare to represent India at the Miss World 2019 pageant in London later this year.
Also crowned in the competition were Femina Miss India United Continents 2019, Shreya Shankar (Bihar), and Femina Miss Grand India 2019, Shivani Jadhav (Chattisgarh). The runner-up was Sanjana Vij from Talengana.
Thirty contestants representing different states of India were vying for the national beauty titles this year.
Two Miss Worlds were present at the event, the reigning Miss World from Mexico, Vanessa Ponce graced the competition while Miss World 2017, India’s Manushi Chhillar was one of the hosts.
India is one of the most successful countries at the Miss World pageant. It has won the title six times along with Venezuela.
