20-year-old student representing Rajasthan, Suman Rao, was crowned Femina Miss India World 2019 in a national pageant held at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai on Satuday, June 15. She became the successor of last year’s winner Anukreethy Vas and will now prepare to represent India at the Miss World 2019 pageant in London later this year.
Also crowned during the competition were Femina Miss India United Continents 2019, Shreya Shankar (Bihar) and Femina Miss Grand India 2019, Shivani Jadhav (Chattisgarh). The runner-up was Sanjana Vij from Talengana.
30 contestants representing different states of India were vying for the national beauty titles this year.
Two Miss Worlds were present at the event, reigning Miss World from Mexico, Vanessa Ponce witnessed the competition while Miss World 2017, India’s Manushi Chhillar was one of the hosts.
India is one of the most successful countries at the Miss World pageant. The country won the title 6 times along with Venezuela.
