Miss World 1960 from Argentina, Norma Cappagli, has passed away on Tuesday, December 22 in a hospital after a horrible accident that happened to her last Thursday.
The 81-year-old was run over by a bus in Buenos Aires and unfortunately never recovered from her injuries. According to reports, the bus driver has already been arrested.
Norma became her country’s first Miss World when she was crowned at age 21 in London 60 years ago. She succeeded Holland’s Corine Rottschäfer who also passed away last September.
Her prizes for winning the title at that time include £500 and a sports car. After her reign, she worked as a model and recorded the song “Sexy World” which was featured in the TV show “Velvet.”
