Miss World 2003 Rosanna Davison has announced she’s expecting identical twin boys with her husband Wes Quirke in November this year.
The surprise pregnancy came after struggling with 14 miscarriages and despite being told she would probably never be able to carry her own baby due to suspected immune system dysfunction, which numerous different medical treatments failed to rectify.
“My doctor can’t offer a medical explanation for why I have been able to sustain this pregnancy and it will probably always remain one of life’s mysteries,” Rosanna wrote on Instagram.
“For this to just happen naturally, and to have twins too by complete chance, is an absolute dream come true for us,” she added.
Rosanna has a message for couples facing similar difficulties. She said, “Fertility miracles may take some time, but they really can happen in the most unexpected and magical ways. As always, sending so much love to those of you still on your baby journey. Never give up hope.”
The Irish beauty queen turned actress, singer, nutritionist, and “Eat Yourself Beautiful” author welcomed her daughter Sophia through gestational surrogacy last year.
Rosanna has won Miss Ireland before joining the Miss World 2003 pageant in Sanya, China where she was proclaimed as the first-ever Irish representative to win the title.
