Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh wins Miss World 2019Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh triumphed over 100 other beauties to be crowned Miss World 2019 on Saturday, December 14 at ExCel London, in England. She is the fourth woman from Jamaica to win the Miss World title.

The 23-year-old talented singer succeeded last year’s winner from Mexico, Vanessa Ponce de Leon during the 69th edition of the prestigious pageant.

Ophély Mézino of France and Suman Rao of India were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Elís Miele Coelho of Brazil and Nyekachi Douglas of Nigeria, completed the Top 5 finalists.

Cook Islands, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, Philippines, Russia and Vietnam were the rest of the Top 12 semi-finalists.

The new Miss World is a women’s studies and psychology student at Florida State University who aspires to be a medical doctor. In her free time she enjoys singing, cooking, vlogging, volunteering and singing.

Other Miss World winners from Jamaica were Carole Joan Crawford in 1963, Cindy Breakspeare in 1976 and Lisa Hanna in 1993.
