Miss Aruba 2019 beauty pageant was held last Saturday, August 10 in the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino in Oranjestad.
Five contestants battled out for the crowns at stake and the right to represent Aruba at major international pageants this year.
A nursing student, Danna Garcia, was crowned Miss Aruba Universe 2019. She will compete in Miss Universe 2019 whose date and venue have yet to be announced.
Ghislaine Mejia, a student at the University of Aruba, was crowned Miss World Aruba 2019. She will go to London, England in December for the Miss World 2019 competition.
Lorraine Oduber, Aninha van der Linden, and Whitney Luciana were the remaining five finalists.
Last year’s winners, Miss Aruba Universe 2018 Kimberly Julsing and Miss Aruba World 2018 Nurianne Arias Helder, passed on their titles to the new queens at the end of the event.
Aruba is well known for its multi-lingual and multi-cultural inhabitants, where over 50 nationalities live well under the always radiant sun, infusing its energy to an always happy population.
This year, the Miss Aruba pageant decided to cast their contestants to a more “quality than quantity” race for the coveted crown by meticulously choosing a group of five beautiful, eloquent, intellectual and active in the community ladies with a stronger chance to deliver the best to the international platform.
