Helen Hernandez was announced as Miss Aruba Universe 2020 last week after going through a virtual casting and series of interviews with a selection committee.
The 20-year-old student who hails from Noord was crowned with the presence of the Minister of Culture Xiomara Maduro in a special ceremony held at Azia Cocktail Lounge. She succeeds last year’s winner, Danna Garcia.
“We still have a long way to go and I will not stop until I can make Aruba proud. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent my beautiful island,” she expressed on social media after the event.
The newly-crowned Miss Aruba will represent her island country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant in the first quarter of 2021 possibly in the USA.
